A Much Needed Update!

Sooooooo...........I am so sad that I haven't been able to keep up with this blog. For one, my personal computer isn't working too well and David is always working on his so I've been reading A LOT! My sister and I took Khloe to my friend Ashley's son 1st year old birthday party. We had a lot of fun and Khloe had her first kiss :) haha! I have pictures and will post them! Khloe had her pediatrician appointment last week and now weighs 19.4lbs! The doctor is extremely happy with her progress and she's now in the 50 percentile :) She got a flu shot and didn't even cry! She then went to visit me at work and everyone enjoyed seeing her. The day after her appointment I left to Visalia for the week on a business trip and of course, she started crawling :( We knew she would be doing so soon but I was sad when she did it and I wasn't there. Thankfully my sister caught some of it on camera as she was crawling to Fluffy! Last weekend I took her to take Halloween pictures and my sister went with us. She is going to be Baby Tweety :) Every time you call her name she goes "huh?" She knows you're talking to her and replies to you! Since she's crawling everywhere, she demands more time (I'm only typing this because she is taking a nap). Grandpa had a hard time with her yesterday since she's so needy now. She had pickles for the first time yesterday and loved them, even took a bite of it! She now has 2 teeth, 2 in the bottom center. I will post pictures soon, promise! I can't believe she'll be 10 months next Friday...she'll be one sooner than we think!

Monthly Update (Long)

I might as well call this my monthly update since it appears I've been doing 1 per month :( David took Khloe to her Infantsee apointment which is a complimentary optometrist appointment for babies 6-12 months of age. This is a great opportunity to see if the baby is developing any problems and to try to resolve them within 5 years since that's when their eyes are in development. After getting her eyes dilated and tested, Khloe has a slight stigmatism which she probably got from me since David doesn't have one. She is to go back to the doctor in 6 months and if it hasn't gotten better, she'll be getting glasses! How a 15 month old baby can keep glasses on is beyond me but lets hope she doesn't need them. After the appointment David took her to my job to visit and everyone loved seeing her. Khloe now pulls herself up by holding on to hands, shirts, pretty much whatever she can get her hands on! She is still not crawling and still hasn't gotten her first tooth! She has the pincher grasp down but doesn't understand to actually put the food in her mouth! She's tried popcorn, alphabet letter soup,1 type of hard cheese, tortillas, beans, watermelon and many other things, she'll be trying egg yolk later today. She LOVES to talk and is always a happy baby! Right now we're home even though we had the beach and fair planned this weekend because she has a cold and more than anything, is very congested. Her Aunt Marina and Grandma Olga watched her for the first time a couple of weeks ago because David had to go to the Doctor and the DMV. She actually did really well with them even though she doesn't see them much. Every morning when she's at home we have a ritual where we hold her and whatever DVD she chooses, that's the one she watches...of course we make sure that it is kid friendly! She is just like her Daddy and loves movies but yesterday she was in total awe watching the Sandlot! Sorry David, she's going to like sports (unlike you!) haha :) At Grandma's house we will be converting one of the rooms to Khloe's room (yes, she's spoiled!) Grandpa even got her a pink stroller for when she's over their house. Funny story.....She has long hair in the front but not the back so Grandma decides to trim her hair and it looks as though she got a bowl and cut around it LOL she looks like a little boy now but still so cute! Now I have to wait for it to a grow again before I schedule any professional pictures! She loves to take baths and now takes big girl baths in the regular size tub with her toys and bubbles :) Yesterday she got a menthol bath to help her with all the boogies she has! She has a lot of bath toys but her favorite one is a rubber duck from the Westin (I used to collect anything related to rubber duckies and my mom gave me that duck years ago). I cleaned out her drawers yesterday and had so many outfit that no longer fit her :( I started crying when I came across a preemie size dress she wore right before she turned a month old...I can't believe she's grown so much in just 8 months; time has truly gone by quick! A Much Needed Update

Khloe is almost 8 months old and I still haven't posted her 7 month old pictures! She stayed at Grandma and Grandpas that night so they have those pictures and I haven't been able to get them. It is getting harder for me to update since I work 50 hour weeks and by the time I get home I have to feed Khloe, bathe her, have dinner, take care of the dogs, get my clothes ready for the next day, TRY to clean and then go to sleep! Parenthood is hard but it is the most rewarding job anyone can ask for. Khloe is eating A LOT of solid foods now but hasn't been doing all that great with her formula. I think it's due to her teething but thankfully yesterday and today were better days! I got bronchitis a couple of weeks ago and then Khloe had a fever for a few days and her Auntie Stefany took her to the pedi...her pedi wasn't available but she got seen by another pedi and she was perfectly fine! No sign of infection or anything so we think her fever was due to once again...teething! There are no teeth yet so I am sure Khloe is just fed up! This weekend Grandma and Grandpa bought her a jumper for their house, a bunch of little toys, spoons and food...she is truly spoiled and has the best Grandparents ever :) I can't recall if I mentioned this before but she has said "hi" a few times! She also likes to play pon pon ta ta (I played that when I was a kid) and she sometimes says ta ta while doing it...hard to explain what that is without a video so I will try to get one! Grandma was the one to teach her this as well as fake coughing which she does just for Grandma and to try to get her attention! This weekend we went to her friend Hailey's first birthday and had a lot of fun! Here are a few pictures of that day and one of her eating on Grandma with her Lacoste hat from a while back :)

6 Month Pedi Appointment

Auntie Stefany and Uncle Kent took Khloe to her 6 month check-up since David and I were both at work on Thursday. She now weights 16.6lbs and measures 25 1/4 inches! The doctor said that she's exactly where a 6 month old baby girl should be. I made a list of questions and comments for my sister so she can ask the pedi and Dr. Warren is so great, he answered them for me on my list! I was concerned that she had only rolled over once and he said that since Khloe can actually sit at 6 months, she is ahead on development because not many babies sit at that age! She can start to eat whole milk yogurt at 7 months and textured food at 9 months. He said to hold off on juice but that we can give her 2-3oz twice a day. I think I will give her 2oz every few days so she can try it. He upped her solid meals to 3 times a day and was happy we are scheduling her InfantSee appoinment next week :) He didn't even have to tell us about it because we were the ones that brought it up! Her next appointment is scheduled for October! I can't believe it would be Halloween by then. After the appointment they went to visit me at work and everyone loved being able to see Khloe and they all noticed how big she is getting. I will post more pictures soon!

5 Months/6 Months/4th of July!!!

I haven't posted in a while so I am posting a mix of pictures in no particular order! Khloe at 5 months, 6 months, at her Aunt Jannette's Birthday Party and her first time in her little pool on 4th of July :D I promise I will update more often like I used to. Khloe can now sit by herself! She tilts over here and there but for the most part she sits on her own. I don't know why but she doesn't turn!!! She has only done it once and never again after that. She has her 6 month check up next week and Tia Tefis will be taking her since David and I both work :( I am putting together a list of questions for her and things for her to mention to the Pedi. She loves guava and mango and has eaten everything we've given her! I went back to work 2 weeks ago so we are supplementing with formula...She still gets breast milk which we froze a few days a week but then it's formula. She is a little flirt already with the boys! Tia Tefis and Tio Kenty Poo took her to Chuckee Cheese last Thursday and she enjoyed sitting next to Chuckee! I don't have pictures of that (my sister does) so I will post those later! We are truly blessed that we were all able to switch our schedules so she doesn't need to go to a sitter now that I'm at work :) The only thing that's sad is the fact that we don't have a day off together as a family but sacrifices need to be made! Updates!

Haven't updated in a while so here's what's been happing in Ms. Khloe's world...She is now eating chicken (though she hates the texture), mango and sweet corn! I don't wait the 5 days that the pedi recommends before introducing new food...We feed her the food for 2 days for a total of 4 times and then we move on! At the pedi's rate she would only be introduced to 6 foods a month and that is just crazy! It only takes 4 hours to know of an allergic reaction soooooooooo I'm sticking to my way! lol She's sitting a little better now and we hope she is able to sit by her 6 month check up on July 6th! Since I am back at work next Monday :( David will be taking her to her appointment so I'm already making a list of questions for him to ask the pedi. We have taken Khloe to the lavender festival, her aunt's High School graduation and Victoria Gardens (where she finally used her stroller without the car seat for the first time!) Auntie Kristie also came over to the house and saw Khloe during her 5 monthaversary and Auntie Tefis got her a cute watermelon dress! My mom and I went to Vegas and David took care of Khloe and he did great! My dad is in Mexico and has been there for 3 weeks and took my camara :( He left me with a crappy one which is why I haven't posted pictures in a LONG time! He is back this weekend and I will update pictures soon!

She Rolled Over!

I know I promised pictures a week ago but haven't posted any! But.....................Khloe rolled over 2night for the first time :) The ironic thing is that we got our HD video camera delivered today and David has been playing with it all day and as soon as he turned it off to change her, she decided to roll over! There will be more times to capture her rolling but it would have been ideal to get it on camera her very 1st time!

Khloe is now Eating Solids!

I haven't updated in a couple of weeks but just wanted to post that Khloe has now eaten carrots, sweet potatoes, peas, pears, bananas and avocados. She didn't like the avocados much and we think it is probably due to the texture so we will try them again when she's a little older. Today she will be trying applesauce for the first time and I will be MAKING (wish me luck!) baby food. I will be starting off with carrots and sweet potatoes...Pictures to follow soon!
